A 32-year-old Kingston man was recently punched unconscious by his common-law-wife after the woman found out she was part of a plot masterminded by him to test just how faithful she was. The woman's lover is said to have paid another man to take a chance at gaining the woman's attention and affection. The rather hilarious situation unfolded two weeks ago in a section of the Gregory Park community in Portmore, St Catherine, where the woman owns a house, and where she and her lover for the past 12 years live. THE STAR heard that two Saturdays ago, the woman's lover, a carpenter, was enjoying a game of dominoes when he was suddenly attacked from behind and hit with a 'sucker punch'. When THE STAR visited the area on the weekend, those who were aware of the incident said upon being hit just once, the man fell to the ground and was unconscious for a few minutes. They say things could have been worse, had it not been for the quick action of another resident who witnessed the act and was fast on the scene with a bucket of water. It is said that the woman also gave her lover 'a tall glass of sugar and water'. drop instant "Is a tall glass a sugar and water wi affi mix gi di man, after wi dash a bucket a water pon him. Di woman walk up behind di man and swing har fist right roun to him face. Him drop instant," one eyewitness who gave his name only as Peppa explained. As residents tried to revive the unconscious man, his enraged lover is said to have explained her actions to a handful of persons who tried to accost her. It is said that the woman explained that the man questioned her faithfulness and paid $3,000 to one of his friends from the community to 'look' her. The woman is said to have further explained that it was her lover's friend who confessed to the plan. "Di woman seh a di man weh get di money tell har bout di plan. She seh har man pay him fren fi look har so him can see if she a gi weh di ting. Di man look like him neva really waa do it, suh him jus buss everything. Di woman all get back di money," recalled another resident, 21-year-old Sereta Young. Meanwhile, the woman at the centre of the situation said she did not want to comment on the matter. When THE STAR visited her home, the tall, robust woman, who was wrapped in only a towel, simply said, "Me nuh have nuttin more fi seh, uno go look fi mi so-called man and ask him bout it." She then slammed her door. When THE STAR contacted the Gregory Park Police Station, a corporal said they were aware of the incident but no formal report had been made. |
