FAMILY SPLIT ON MYSTIC'S HEALTH - Some insist she needs help, others disagree

Dancer Mystic - File

Relatives of dancer/musician Mystic seem to be divided on whether or not she is well and in need of professional attention.

At least one close relative who spoke to THE STAR recently expressed concern about the dancer and said that she seems depressed and her behaviour pattern has changed. But, the dancer's father insists that she is only making changes in her life and is quite well.

The relative, in expressing her views, said that she recently accompanied Mystic to the doctor after she was found on the weekend following reports that she had gone missing.

"We did multiple tests at the doctor and absolutely no drugs were found in her system so the problem is clearly not substance abuse," she said.

Our news team was told that the doctor recommended that Mystic be surrounded by close family.

THE STAR was also told that Mystic's mother who presently resides overseas is also concerned about her daughter's health.

When asked about the first sign of change with Mystic, our news team was told of instances from as early as February of this year.

The relative said, "Right now, we need help for Mystic because her dad resisting and seems to be in denial ... He has a big influence on her, but someone needs to intervene before her condition reaches a state of disrepair ... He was the one who made contact on Friday to say he couldn't find her ... "

When THE STAR spoke to Mystic's dad, Dr Iman Blak, he gave a different account of the matter.

Dr Blak expressed, "I am her father and nobody but myself can disclose such information about my daughter. Anybody saying otherwise is only creating public mischief. She was never missing."

He also said that Mystic's social media accounts were hacked and therefore information that was being released was not factual.

He spoke of postings such as "HELP ME!", "I'm ALIVE ... HELP" which had fans and friends alike worried.

Dr Blak reasoned, "She (Mystic) is unwilling to share what she is doing, which is studying and reading a lot and that may be disturbing to the fans."

He continued, "I'm not in communication with her sister, so therefore, no family member can speak of Mystic ... That's my responsibility and they would be breaching protocol."

During the conversation with Dr Blak, our news team was allowed to speak with Mystic who was beside him at the time.

wasn't aware

Mystic expressed, "I wasn't even aware that something was wrong. Since last December, I took myself away from the scene," referring to the fact that fans and the public are concerned with her 'changes'.

She continued, "I am sorry ... I am concentrating on resting, I was advised by the doctor. I am easing off the party scene and organising myself. I speak to people who understand so I contacted CeCile and asked her, her take on my situation. I work really hard and I need to rest. I don't have a phone or internet so people trying to get me wouldn't understand."

Meanwhile, Dr Blak gave his final input before ending the telephone conversation adding, "Our social family in Harbour View will tell you she has not looked like she usually did. She has lost her weight simply because she is exercising a lot more."

When THE STAR spoke to several Harbour view residents there was somewhat of a mixed reaction.

One resident expressed, "She nuh mad she jus a go through her personal changes ... She used to deal with two celebrities and dem jus part and leave her so she is afraid to share it with people and a go through it by herself."

Another resident who claimed to be around her long before she became popular said, "Mi sorry for her cause a nuh Mystic dat weh mi know ... ".
