Cops to probe if ... GAYS ATTACK SECURITY GUARD |

SHELDON WILLIAMS, Staff Reporter A security guard who reportedly sustained injuries after he was attacked by men said to be homosexuals who threw stones at him has since been released from hospital, THE STAR has learnt. It is understood that the guard who is attached to King Alarm was injured during an encounter with men labelled as homosexuals during a brawl on Saturday. Information reaching THE STAR indicates that the incident transpired at the JFLAG headquarters at Upper Musgrave Avenue in St Andrew. It is understood that four men were being a noisy nuisance at the location, when King Alarm dispatched a team to the location to quell the disturbance. police arrived When the security guard arrived on the scene, he was allegedly attacked by the three young men who threw stones at him. The guard responded by using a baton to subdue his attackers and restrained them until the police arrived and took them into custody. During the row, the security guard allegedly discharged one round from his service weapon. Our officers were not the aggressors, and were it not for their action, a bad situation ran the risk of getting uglier," Azar said. He added, "While one respects the rights of all Jamaicans it is hoped that some sectors do not receive preferential treatment over others. Our job is to assist with upholding law and order, and from reports I have received, we did just that." The St Andrew Central police confirmed the incident and said the men involved in the brawl are to be charged. |
