A woman was arrested and charged in relation to the Dangerous Drugs and Corrections acts, after she was allegedly held smuggling ganja in the Gun Court section at the Remand Centre, THE STAR has learnt.

Charged with breaches of the Corrections Act as well as illegal possession of ganja is 21-year-old Carla Scarlette of Windward Road, Kingston 2, address.

Reports are that on Saturday, Scarlette attended the Gun Court Remand Centre to visit a prisoner, during a routine search, the ganja was allegedly found hidden in the sole of her slipper.

Scarlette is set to face the courts later this month to answer to the charges.
