Teen injured in truck accident |

A delivery truck laden with beverages crashed along a main road near Gutters in St Catherine yesterday, after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The crash which occurred about 9 a.m., left a teenager injured. Reports are that the truck was proceeding towards Old Harbour when the incident occurred. Upon reaching the intersection of Gutters main road and Old Harbour Road, a car reportedly drove out on the truck. The driver swerved and lost control and the truck came to a halt on the opposite side of the road. "A bad drive reach the truck driver still, and as him tek weh from the car him lose control of it," Charlie Williams a bystander said. The police said the Leyland truck is the property of Jamaica Beverages, a company that produces a number of popular drinks. A number of persons were seen with items from the truck. However, swift action brought things under control. - R.T. |
