Typhoon music releases 'Sunset Boulevard' rhythm

Entertainment company, Typhoon Music Group (TMG), has launched its new 'Reggae Fusion' rhythm - Sunset Blvd., which features 14 tracks by popular and rising artistes.

Damian Ebanks and Gregory Morris joined forces in 1999 to establish TMG and set out on a mission to "satisfy the people of the world with soulful, positive music that will inspire and live on for generations to come." This is the sentiment TMG's co-founder Damian Ebanks shared when asked about the group's evolution from a home-based studio, to one of the fastest rising record labels with locations in both Los Angeles, California and Kingston, Jamaica.

Morris, a Grammy Award-winning Engineer and Ebanks, a reputed producer and visionary, have carved a niche for themselves by creating quality hip hop and R&B productions; however, Morris says 'reggae fusion' is their forté.

This month, TMG debuts their latest production, a 14-track compilation of the Sunset Blvd., rhythm, featuring DeMarco, legendary reggae artiste Half Pint, Dancehall group Voicemail, Chevaughn, Matik, Thugsy Malone, plus newcomers Alva and Toi.

creative process

Ebanks says he knew the rhythm would be a hit early in the creative process when they received the signal of approval from his four-year-old son.

"We had just started composing the instrumentals and my son immediately started rocking and swaying to the beat. That's all the assurance we needed. We were on the right track, producing something that would have the energy and feel-good vibe we were going for. Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles gives me and many others I know that feel-good vibe my son got from listening to the composition, and that was the inspiration behind the name for the riddim," says Ebanks.

The selection of songs on the rhythm represent a range of experiences and perspectives, given the diversity of the artistes who put a lot of passion, purpose and patience into the final product. DeMarco revisited his religious roots with Psalms A Day, Chevaughn's ever soulful sound comes through in Been So Long and Beautiful is an energetic love song by Voicemail.

The tracks will be available to the public on iTunes and other online media later this month.

After several months of contending with hectic travel schedules and marathon studio sessions, TMG is enthusiastic about the debut of the Sunset Blvd., rhythm and looks forward to a warm welcome from music lovers everywhere.
