Police probe if ... Cop in love affair with 14-y-o

The St Ann's Bay police yesterday arrested and charged a policeman after he was accused of having sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl.

The policeman, who is stationed in the Kingston Western Division, resides in St Ann.

According to reports, in January the father of the child heard allegations that the teen was involved with the officer, and that she occasionally visited him at his home.

It is further alleged that the father became suspicious and began his own investigations. It was reported that he became convinced that the accused cop was sexually involved with his daughter.

He made a report and an investigation was launched. Last week, a ruling was made that the officer be charged.

The officer was brought before the St Ann's Bay Resident Magistrate's Court and offered bail in the sum of $300,000.

RM Vaughn Facey ordered him to surrender his travel documents. He is scheduled to return to court on December 4.
