Janitor on larceny rap gets bail

A janitor who is accused of breaking into the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Flying Squad office recently was adamant that he is not guilty when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

He is Lenard Waysome from a Kingston 20 address who was offered a $200,000 bail.

Waysome who has been charged with larceny as a servant is to return to court on October 23 for trial.

Allegations are that Waysome who was employed as a janitor at the office, along with others stole several items, including a plasma television, microwave, and a component set.

It is alleged that the accused had taken the cops to where the stolen items were being hidden.

As a condition of his bail, he is to report to the Duhaney Park Police Station on Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 6 a.m and 6 p.m.

In addition, Resident Magistrate Georgianna Fraser ordered that the accused should not visit the Flying Squad's office.

Waysome is being represented by attorney-at-law Garth Taylor.
