Mission Sunday a success |
|||||
![]() The Reverend Sylburn Kerr prays for the congregation. - Anthony Minott Mission Sunday, held at the Abundant Life Christian Church, located on Portmore Town Centre Plaza, was a hit last Sunday. Co-Pastor Marcia Kerr, who has a passion to win souls, told the congregants that her message could be the last message they hear, as no one knows when they will die. "It could be the last message we are hearing before you die," she said to an attentive audience. "Seek ye the Lord while He can be found," she later said. Her message, clearly inspired by an anointing from the Lord, dug deep into the souls of at least four persons in attendance, and they decided to give themselves to the Lord. Near the end of the service, Pastor Kerr, who shares clergy duties with her husband, Sylburn, embraced her new 'faith walkers' and welcomed them to the newness of God. In the meantime, Gospel artiste JCee, real name Jamett Campbell, and other members from the church ministered one-on-one with non-Christians. She also performed a song from her award-winning album Nah Compromise. Her husband Mark Campbell, who was in attendance, said that her album has a powerful message, and is regarded as one of the best Jamaican albums (gospel or secular) for over a decade.
