Schoolteacher attacked by men

A primary-school teacher had to be taken to the hospital after two men attacked her inside her classroom yesterday.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the incident happened around 9:45 a.m. at the Dunrobin Primary School in St Andrew.

Reports are that the men gained access to the school premises after they presented fake identification cards to security personnel.

It is understood that the men went to a grade-six classroom, ordered the students to be quiet, then carried out the attack.

A source told our news team that the children began screaming, and the men fled the scene.

THE STAR has since learnt that the police are now investigating reports that the attack was linked to an incident in which the teacher scolded a student moments before the attack.

Meanwhile, the school principal, Robert Gillies, declined to comment on the incident.

This is the second attack on a teacher within the last week.

Last Friday, 41-year-old Michael Melbourne was stabbed to death by a mob after he reportedly hit several pedestrians who were assisting a victim of a hit and run.
