The Portmore police are now investigating the death of a man who is believed to have drowned in Hellshire, St Catherine, sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Dead is 42-year-old Errol Smith, a fisherman of a Portmore address in St Catherine.

Information received is that about 7:30 a.m., residents became alarmed when they saw his boat beside the Hellshire main road and alerted the police.

According to reports received by the lawmen, Smith went fishing the night before and had not been seen since.

The Marine police were notified and a search launched. His body was later found and pulled from the water and taken to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
