7th staging of Port royal seafood festival in high gear

Historically known as the 'wickedest and richest city in the world', Port Royal is now in high gear for the 7th staging of what is undoubtedly Jamaica's biggest seafood festival on Monday, October 15.

Spearheaded by Jenny Jenny Productions, the festival is easily one of hottest entertainment and cultural calendar events in Kingston, and Digicel is excited to be on board for the fifth consecutive year as a major sponsor.

Speaking at the launch of the festival, Digicel's Sponsorship Executive Sandra Ledgister said "One of the things that makes Port Royal Seafood Festival such an immense success year after year is the spirit of togetherness and camaraderie in Port Royal to raise money for the betterment of your community and to inspire a spirit of social entrepreneurship in Port Royal. and for us at Digicel, that is indeed extraordinary".

Jennifer 'Jenny Jenny' Small, expressed excitement at this year's staging when she shared that, "It has been great pleasure having Digicel on board the Port Royal Seafood Festival for over five years. Yearly, this exciting brand and its hard workers bring excitement to the seafood field. Among the highlights will be the celebrity cook-off which engages sponsors and representatives from corporate Jamaica to show off their culinary skills, plus there will be loads of giveaways throughout the day, so don't miss it".

In sync with National heroes weekend celebrations and to continue the fever of the Jamaica 50 celebrations, patrons will be treated to a mix of mento music, Jamaican folk singing and an 'old meets new' entertainment with performances from the likes of Eric Donaldson, Marcia Griffiths, Half Pint and Freddie McGregor, plus dancehall sensations Popcaan and Konshens.
