Vociferous woman silenced in court

A woman charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and who became vociferous while in the dock, had to be quieted by several attorneys and police officers in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Alysone Christine Mickle, who had her bail extended until October 23, was ordered to give her fingerprints to the police.

Allegations into the matter are that on the day of the incident, Mickle and the complainant, a police officer, who is also her landlord, got into an altercation resulting in the complainant being injured.

Mickle maintained her innocence, claiming that the officer was making frivolous reports against her and that he is the provocateur.

Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly Williams gave the woman a stern warning and subsequently ordered her return to court in late October, at which point disclosure will be held into the matter.
