22-y-o man remanded for uncle's murder

The case involving a 22-year-old man who has been charged with the murder of his uncle was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The accused, Roland Scullery of Tobias Road, Kingston 11, was remanded when he appeared before RM Lorna Shelly-Williams. He is to return to court on October 18.

Allegations are that on July 11, an argument developed between the accused and 44-year-old Ernesto Scullery. During the heated argument the accused reportedly used a machete to chop his uncle on his left hand before using the same machete to stab the man in his chest.

The injured man was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Scullery reportedly fled the scene but turned himself over to police on September 17.
