Cop's gun goes missing - Sent on leave pending probe |

A policeman has been sent on leave and an investigation launched after he reportedly 'lost' his service firearm while on patrol on Saturday, THE STAR understands. The policeman is from the St Catherine South Police Division. His rank was not ascertained. patrol duty Information reaching THE STAR is that the policeman went on radio car patrol duty armed with a Glock pistol. It is understood that after travelling from Bridgeport to the Portmore Police Station (100 Man), in Greater Portmore, he realised that the gun was missing. The policeman, whom The Star learnt enlisted in the Jamaica Constabulary Force less than two years ago, started to search frantically for the weapon, however, he could neither find nor account for it. Following this, his superiors sent him on leave and launched an investigation. |
