A Jamaican man reported to New York police that a man had broken into his home and was later found in bed with his three-year-old daughter, THE STAR has learnt.

The dailynews.com reported that a drunken man broke into a Queens, New York, home last Thursday and hopped into bed with the child. Police were investigating whether he had sexually assaulted the child before he fled.

The girl's horrified father reportedly said he jumped out of bed in his 88th Avenue apartment in Jamaica, Queens, about 3 a.m, after he heard a noise inside his daughter's room.

"Somebody broke into my house ... I found him in my daughter's bed," the unidentified father was quoted as saying. The frantic father rushed towards the intruder, who allegedly sprinted out of the apartment.

"The guy was drunk and out of his mind, I woke him up and kicked him out, but they can't find him," the father reported.

Police sources said the little girl was being checked at a local hospital as detectives searched for evidence at the scene.

Investigators have reportedly been going over footage from nearby surveillance cameras to find an image of the suspect.
