Macka Diamond kicks off three-week tour Friday |

Macka Diamond Dancehall star Macka Diamond will be leaving the island on Friday to kick off a three-week club tour in England. She will be touring on the strength of her popular singles in that country. She will be performing in major clubs in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Bradford. "My songs such as Ah Ya So Nice and Cowfoot have been doing well, and I have a song called Inna Di Club for some producers in London The Bun Him singer likened the initial response to Forty And Fabulous to the response to her mega hit, Bun Him, featuring Blacka Ranks. "The other day, Big A played it for 15 minutes and disc jockeys from HITZ, ZIP, Bess FM, Links Radio, Gary G, DJ Wayne, Liquid, Sparks, Johnny Kool, everybody ah play it," she said. new video Now that Forty And Fabulous has been searing airwaves for the past few weeks, she is thinking about doing a video for the song. "When I get back from England, it will be the first thing on my agenda, shooting a video, and I hope to get some of the male artistes in my age group in the song as well," she said, laughing. The saucy single name-drops prominent male deejays such as Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, and even Vybz Kartel, as examples of deejays who have reached an advanced age but are still relevant. A number of leading artistes are 40 or pushing it: Shabba Ranks is 46, Beenie Man is 39, Bounty Killer is 40, Lady Saw is 44, Vybz Kartel is 36, and Elephant Man just turned 37 in September. "And we are still the best artistes that dancehall has ever seen," Macka Diamond said. |
