Following a much controversial and publicised dispute on Twitter, artistes Devina Burn and Kid Kurup have mended their friendship and have teamed up on a new single titled You and Me.

The song, which was produced by Dre Day Productions, was officially released at the end of September and has been getting steady radio airplay on local radio stations. Social-media sites are also abuzz about the track.

According to Burn, You and Me is a mixture of dancehall and R&B.

"It's just a regular music vibe, we were at Dre Day studios and we decided to build a song and that's how it came about,' she told THE STAR.

Kid Kurup told THE STAR that while the song and video are about getting Devina's music out to the world, it was also about getting people to understand that they are a musical team.

"One of the main reasons we did this song was for people to know that we are a musical team. This is what keeps us together - the music," he said.

The two have also shot a video for the single which, they say, has been getting good feedback.

"This project was Devina's idea, so right now we have the video on YouTube and on Flow. We are in the process of getting it out to the other TV stations now. The feedback has been good so far. Some people have a problem because is me and Devina do the song, but we a go continue promote it," Kid Kurup said.

Both artistes are currently beefing up promotions to take the single to the international market.

In the meantime, Devina will kick off her promotional tour in New York in the upcoming weeks, while Kid Kurup will be in Europe for a series of shows.

Earlier this year, both artistes made headlines after Kid Kurup was reported to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse for alleged sexual relations with a minor. However, after investigations, no further action was taken.
