Manchester police search for rape suspect

The Manchester police say they are on the hunt for a suspect involved in the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Downs district on Sunday night.

It is reported that the girl was on her way home with a male relative when she was held up by a man at gunpoint, dragged into bushes and raped.

The male relative was not harmed.

This is the second case of rape in the parish in less than a week.

Last Thursday, a 12-year-old girl was reportedly raped by a man said to be her godfather.

THE STAR understands that the suspect in that incident was questioned by the police on Monday and is to be charged.
