Twenty-five-year-old Raheem Williams, who was accused of using a piece of wood to push inside his girlfriend's vagina, was granted $200,000 bail in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate's (RM) court yesterday. According to reports, Williams' 23-year-old girlfriend went to visit him at his home in Mandeville last Friday when the incident occurred. After spending some time at his home, it is alleged that a message came in on her mobile phone which Williams read and got into a rage. It is alleged that Williams first physically assaulted her. Reports are that he further pushed his fingers inside her vagina, and then pushed a piece of wood inside her as well. The complainant reported the matter to the police before receiving medical attention. Williams was arrested by the police and was charged with grievous sexual assault. When he appeared in court yesterday, Williams denied pushing the wood inside his girlfriend. A bail application which was made on his behalf by attorney Dwight Reece was granted. The accused was ordered by the court not to have any physical contact with the complainant and he is also to report to the Mandeville police on Saturdays. The case is scheduled to be mentioned again in the Mandeville RM Court on November 14.
