The partially decomposed body of a man was found wrapped in sheet last night in a motor car, hours after he was reported missing by relatives, THE WEEKEND STAR has learnt.

The man has been identified as Gregory Cooper, who is believed to be in his late 30s. He was found in the trunk of a Toyota Corolla motor car on Fidel Close near Hagley Park Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The body was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to reports from the St Andrew South police, residents summoned them to the scene after realising that the car in which the body was found had been abandoned.

The residents became further suspicious when dogs were seen circling the parked vehicle yesterday.

When THE WEEKEND STAR arrived on the scene, scores of onlookers gathered around the area keenly watching the proceedings, as the Scene of Crime detectives carried out their operation.

Residents from the area told our news team that the motor car appear to have been parked at the location since 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

A resident from the area said, "A from bout 6 'o' clock the car park deh so ... Mi nuh see a who park it, but when mi and mi friend dem come out here last night we saw the car ... We never know say anything was wrong."

An aunt of the deceased who was still in shock spoke to THE WEEKEND STAR.

She said, "He was missing since Wednesday and we filed a missing persons report with the police yesterday."

The aunt, who declined to give her name, also told our news team that Cooper died leaving behind two children.

The police on the scene told THE WEEKEND STAR that it was too early to determine if Cooper was killed there or brought to the location after the act was committed.
