The police in Manchester have taken a suspect into custody for the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Downs district, Manchester, on Sunday.

It is reported that the girl was held at gunpoint and raped in bushes as she was walking home with a male relative.

The suspect was caught on Tuesday and taken into custody for questioning in relation to the crime.

In the meantime, the taxi driver held in connection with last Thursday's rape of a 12-year-old girl in Mandeville is to face an ID parade.

The police have not given a specific date for the ID parade.
