A 19-year-old man was yesterday taken into police custody for allegedly
killing his grandmother in Whithorn, Westmoreland.
Dead is Phyllis Watson-Turner, who was reportedly beheaded. Reports from the police are that Watson-Turner's body was found on the verandah sometime after 5 a.m., by members of her family. It is reported that the elderly woman was in the island to conduct preparations for the funeral of her son who died in a recent motor vehicle accident. The accused was reportedly found several metres from the house by a resident with his bloody clothes. When asked about his bloody clothes, it is reported that the accused said that he had killed some fowls. Investigations are ongoing. |
