Constable slapped with buggery charges

The police constable who was apprehended by airport police while trying to flee the island last week has been slapped with buggery charges, THE STAR understands.

Charged with three counts of buggery and illegal possession of firearm is Constable Kevin Marsh.

According to reports, Marsh, who is attached to the St Andrew North police, was detained by immigration officers at the Norman Manley International Airport on Friday while attempting to depart the island for Canada.

In a release from the Constabulary Communication Network, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) ruled that the 33-year-old corporal be charged following allegations made by a complainant.

THE STAR understands that details of the complaint are being withheld, however, confirmation has been provided that Marsh was arrested by members of the Anti-Corruption Branch and the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.

He is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Gun Court on Friday, October 19.
