A joint police/military operation has led to the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in St Catherine on Monday.

The St Catherine police are reporting that between 11a.m. and 1:20 p.m. several premises in Lakes Pen were searched.

One M16 assault rifle and fifty-one 5.56 rounds of ammunition were seized.

Eight men have been taken into custody for questioning.
