Ellington warns citizens about mob killings
Commissioner of Police, Owen Ellington, is warning against citizens taking the law into their own hands and participating in mob killings.

In a release from the Police High Command on Tuesday, the commissioner noted that citizens have a duty to report crimes to the police or where possible apprehend felons and hand them over to the cops.

However, he said that mob killing is classified as murder and will be thoroughly investigated by the police so that those responsible are arrested and charged.

The commissioner, in the release, also warned that Jamaicans should exercise restraint and have every confidence in the justice system that it is working, rather than seek to bypass it and engage in the criminal act of mob killing.
