Bus conductor crushed to death |

The man who allegedly kicked a bus conductor from a moving vehicle bus causing him to be run over by another bus while travelling along Spanish Town Road yesterday is in police custody, THE STAR has learnt. Information reaching THE STAR is that the bus conductor was crushed to death after it is alleged a passenger kicked him from the moving vehicle he was working from. The incident reportedly took place shortly after 11a.m. yesterday along the busy Spanish Town Road, near Weymouth Drive. Up to press time last night, the name of the deceased had not been released. The name of the suspect is also being withheld. The Hunts Bay police, while confirming the incident, say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. An eyewitness told THE STAR that upon seeing the body of the conductor hit the road, initial thoughts were that a large bag had been thrown from the bus. "Is a wicked act enuh ... I thought it was a bag from the distance where I was, but when mi and mi friend run go up to the crowd which quickly gathered, mi notice it was a man ... then mi hear di people dem start say he is the conductor of the bus,"expressed the young lady. |
