Pepsi Jamaica is home to a number of Jamaica's favourite beverage brands including Gatorade, Ting, Tropicana and Pepsi Cola. Having recently acquired the distributorship of the Ocean Spray line of juices, Pepsi has expanded its portfolio, significantly entering the juice drink market for the first time.

In conjunction with this entry, the company also makes its debut in the flavoured water market, utilising the cranberry juices from Ocean Spray.

According to Carlo Redwood, head of marketing at Pepsi Jamaica, it was a natural synergy and progression for the company.

"As the distributor of Ocean Spray products in Jamaica, our entry into the flavouredwater market was the next natural step to make," Mr Redwood said.

"These products are being distributed through our existing distributorship network. This network is extremely efficient and its reach and scope is greater than any other in the island," Redwood added.

With this new partnership between Pepsi and Ocean Spray, the Ocean Spray flavoured water was also moved to Pepsi. This means that there will be no other flavouredwater products on the market using the quality of Ocean Spray Cranberry juice brand. Pepsi will be the exclusive distributor of Ocean Spray whether through its juices or the flavoured water.

refreshing taste

Jamaican's have drawn to the crisp, refreshing taste of cranberry juice, the Ocean Spray brand in particular, and Jamaica is also on record as the country which consumes the most cranberry juice per capita.

"Ocean Spray Flavour Splash is no ordinary cranberry water; we have taken cranberry-flavoured water to another level. This product is made from the finest cranberries and a company which not only hones the expertise in the harvesting of cranberries, but is also well renowned for the finest production of a variety of products from the cranberry fruit, which is very beneficial to our health," said Gustavo Flamenco, Pepsi Jamaica's commercial director.

The Ocean Spray Flavour splash cranberry-flavoured water was first introduced to the retail market on September 7, with pleasing consumer feedback. To date all sales targets and expectations have been met.

"In our sampling across the island-eight out of every ten persons preferred our cranberry-flavoured water," Flamenco added.

Ocean Spray Flavour Splash is not only tasty, it is affordable. It has a recommended selling price of $60 per bottle. Consumers can look out for Flavour Splash in supermarkets, wholesales, bars, as well as restaurants and service stations islandwide.
