After responding to a break-in ... Security guard shot

A security guard attached to KingAlarm was shot and injured yesterday while responding to reports of a break-in at a premises in Riverton, St Andrew.

Information reaching THE STAR suggests that the man was among a team which responded to calls about looting and break-ins in the community.

A team of security guards who were close by reportedly went to the area to investigate and came under gunfire.

When the shooting had subsided, the security guard was found to be shot.

He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was admitted. The Hunts Bay police are continuing investigations.
