Hurricane blows away Ele's dog - Other entertainers not affected

While Hurricane Sandy didn't affect most of the local entertainers and popular figures, at least one artiste is now feeling sad after some of his pets were washed or blown away on Wednesday.

Deejay Elephant Man has been left devastated after the hurricane blew away some of his birds and a dog.

"Mi have a two-month-old puppy and it look like say the hurricane blow her way. All 12 a mi bird dem blow weh too. Mi did have six lovebirds and six parrots and di hurricane blow dem weh. I'm very sad right now," a distraught Elephant Man said.

The deejay further said that; "I had to be moving from house to house to make sure say everything alright. Haffi a cut down tree and clean up the pool and ting. Basically, mi did inna water boot, raincoat and gloves fi the whole hurricane."

But while Ele has experienced some loss, other popular entertainment figures were not adversely affected.

Ding Dong, who resides in Nannyville, was one of the fortunate ones, with no damage to his home.

"Me a one a di fortunate ones. Nannyville build good, it kinda buil' pon a slant. We had light and water most a di time so we basically just did a play some dominoes and kick back. We did a pray for the rest of Jamaica because mi see some disturbing pictures from people inna Bull Bay and those areas, so we prayed for those people. But overall, we did good, mi nuh hear nobody a bawl say dem roof blow off or anything like that," he said.

Radio personality Khadine 'Miss Kitty' Hylton, also incurred no damage to her home or property.

"I was by myself, unfortunately. I cooked, I made omelette, fried plantain, sausage and drank Milo. I didn't have any damage, just got a little rain and intermittent heavy wind. My heart goes out to those who were affected by the storm. Mi haffi say big up Father God, a Him run the place. Next hurricane, mi a go try offa oxtail and rice and peas," she said.
