Man faces gun and robbery charges

A man who attracted attention to himself by driving in a dangerous manner while travelling through the Bog Walk gorge on Wednesday is now facing gun and robbery charges.

The Star was informed that members of the Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF) were on patrol on Wednesday when upon reaching a section of the Bog Walk gorge, a Toyota Corolla was seen driving dangerously.

Report are that about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the police stopped the vehicle and during a search an illegal gun was found inside.

The driver was subsequently taken to the Spanish Town Police Station. He is being held on suspicion of illegal possession of firearm and robbery with aggravation.

It was revealed that the car was robbed from a woman in Spanish Town earlier. The ISCF members were alerted to the vehicle after they were informed that a vehicle had been stolen from a woman.
