Accused pleads not guilty to assault

A man accused of hurling several stones at his sister is to know his fate on November 9 when he returns to the Corporate Area Resident Magist-rate's Court.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Lorenzo Chandler, who also pleaded not guilty.

The court heard that on the day the incident took place, Chandler's sister, who is also the complainant, had been planting in the yard when he approached her, telling her not to plant in that area of the yard as he had plans to erect a retaining wall.

An altercation later developed between both siblings and several large stones were hurled at Chandler's sister hitting her in various parts of the body resulting in pain.

His sister emphatically told Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly-Williams that her brother has been trouble and that she has been in pain as a result of the incident.

The sister continued that she wanted her brother to remain 100 ft away from her.

Chandler is to return in early November.
