Man on murder rap remanded

Junior Hyatt, the man held in connection for the killing of Doreen Headlamb in June, was remanded until November 27 in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Hyatt is charged with murder.

Allegations are that Hyatt killed Headlamb because she was unable to account for money which was allegedly sent to her over time by him.

It is further being alleged that while Hyatt was working overseas, he sent money to Headlamb on a regular basis to purchase material and land.

When Hyatt returned to Jamaica, he reportedly asked Headlamb for the monies he had sent but she was unable to account for same which led to her demise.

Reports from the police are that about 10:45 a.m. on the day of the incident, Headlamb was walking when she was attacked by a man near the Wallenford Coffee Factory in Gordon Town, St Andrew.

The man reportedly fled the scene, and Headlamb died on the spot.
