Two arrested in connection with credit card fraud ring

Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of several items believed to be used in the manufacturing of fraudulent credit and debit cards.

Investigators from the Organised Crime Investigation Division on Wednesday carried out an operation in sections of Caribbean Estate, St Catherine, where the items were seized.

Reports are that about 1:30 a.m., investigators went on a raid where several items including a manual hot foil stamping machine (foil topper); card writer; card embosser; a square card reader; a template for making Jamaican driver's licence and laptops were seized.

The men have been charged with breaches of the Customs, Cyber Crime, Forgery, Larceny and Money Laundering acts.

The police are advising members of the public to be extremely vigilant when using their credit and debit cards.

Investigations continue.
