Dancehall artiste Chino has broken new ground with a recent collaboration with Canadian rapper and producer Kardinal Offishall.

The song, Live Some Life, was released earlier this month. According to Chino, "the collaboration came through a mutual friend who heard the original and thought he (Kardinal) would do good on it. He heard it and immediately loved it, and recorded it in a matter of days."

So far, Chino says the reception to the song has been good.

"David Rodigan from the United Kingdom endorsed the song stating that the original Party Time song done by the Heptones is one of his all-time reggae classics, and he is extremely pleased with the justice we did to this rendition," he said.

"So far, it's been getting all positive feedback and has been getting steady rotation on radio stations locally, also in the Caribbean, USA, Canada, Europe and Africa," he added.

Kardinal Offishall has had hits like BaKardi Slang and Dangerous, both of which found their way on Billboard charts. This popularity, Chino says, could be a boost to his career.

"As far as my career, Kardinal has a big overseas following and has had mainstream success. This might help to broaden my fan base and possibly open more doors for me, as well as gain interest for him from my fan base," he told THE STAR.

In recent times, Chino has done other songs like Endz Dem Lock, Boom Draw, Miss Universe and Be Around. By the end of the week, he will release another song called By My Side that will be featured on VP Records' Strictly The Best compilation. This will be followed by the release of a new album by early next year.

And, having done a performance in Tennessee over the weekend, Chino will be jetting off to Europe for a tour by the end of the week.
