COURT TOILET STOLEN
Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

The female bathroom at the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court was left useless on Monday after thieves removed the toilet bowl on the weekend.

The act virtually crippled the movement of women who had anything to do with the courthouse on Monday.

It was revealed that the theft was discovered when workers went to clean the facility, which is the only one accessible to members of the public.

To add to the dilemma, the criminals used the face basin as a toilet before escaping with the water closet.

''This a very wicked act, as, if you are attending court and leave the building to do anything then a warrant could be issued for your arrest. Moreover, there is the need for females to have access to a bathroom facility. This is very sad,'' Antonnette Campbell said. Other persons expressed similar sentiments, and said that those who stole the item should be made to pay for the disgraceful act.

Meanwhile, it was revealed to The Star that the missing toilet bowl is not an isolated case as in recent times thieves have stolen fixtures from the male bathroom

The thieves have made off with a tarpaulin and even plyboard from the building. Attempts to get information from the administration proved futile.
