Firearms and several rounds of ammo seized

The St Catherine North police and the Kingston Eastern police have seized four firearms and rounds of ammunition in separate incidents since Tuesday, November 6.

Two firearms - a Smith and Wesson with seven rounds of ammunition and a Beretta pistol with 12 rounds of ammunition - were seized by the St Catherine North police, who were on operation in Spanish Town. Three men have since been taken into custody in connection with this find.

Two other firearms were also seized by the Kingston Eastern police. A Glock 19 9mm pistol with one round and a 9mm pistol with the serial number erased were recovered during an operation on Windward Road, Kingston 2.

Two men were taken into custody in connection with this find. They were also wanted in connection with several crimes in the Corporate Area.

The police consider this to be a major breakthrough.
