Well-known sound system technician, and sound system box builder, 66-year-old Horace 'Tuffest' McNeil was shot and killed by gunmen along Torrington Road, Kingston 14, on Tuesday.

The police say McNeil, of Tewfix Crescent, Kingston 20, was also robbed of his firearm.

THE STAR understands that McNeil was associated with several popular sound systems, including Stone Love.

Reports from the Admiral Town police are that about 1:40 p.m., McNeil was at a business place along Torrington Road when two armed men armed with handguns approached him.

It is reported that the men opened fire hitting him several times and then robbed him of a Sigpro 9mm pistol, serial # SP006381 and a magazine with several rounds of ammunition.

McNeil was rushed to the hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Investigations are ongoing.

Veteran selector, and owner of Stone Love, Winston 'Wee Pow' Powell, told THE STAR yesterday, that he is saddened by the death of McNeil.

"I don't understand why he was killed, but it is a wicked thing enuh because I don't know of that man into any tension wid nobody. I am just hoping that his killing was not a 'hit'. His killing is sketchy, and I don't know what is the motive," he said.

Wee Pow said that McNeil was associated with Stone Love for over 30 years and he was the manager of the Super Saint sound system 'back in the day'.
