Where are they now?

( L - R ) Kaydene Anderson, Camalla Latouche, Patrick Brown

This time last year, heading into the semi-finals of the 2011 Tastee Talent Trail, they were among those favoured to cop the title.

The fact that they occupied the top five places came as little surprise to those who followed the trail from auditions to semi-finals. The five; Patrick Brown, the eventual $1-million first-place winner, Kaydene Anderson who finished second and pocketed $250,000, and Camalla Latouche who took home $100,000 for her third-place finish, filled the top section of the first five and were followed by John Earl and McHuel Prince.

That was 2011. fast-forward to 2012 and the question being asked is, where are they now?

Patrick Brown, aka Trusoul, has released the single Never Get Enough and the music video also featured Camalla Latouche and another contestant Minori Russell. The owner of a powerful voice and the man who captivated Cross Roads last December with a spanking version of the R Kelly hit, When A Woman Loves, has done several stage shows in the interim.

33-city tour in the US

Second-place winner Kaydene Anderson, a former entertainment coordinator on the north coast, has moved on to a career on the north coast cabaret circuit, working such properties as Jewels in Ocho Rios, Hedonism 11, and Hilton Rose Hall. She is currently awaiting word on a possible 33-city tour in the US next year for a prominent record label, which at this time she prefers to remain unnamed.

Camalla Latouche, third-place finisher last year, continues to enjoy visibility as a deejay as well as an emcee for major shows. (She was the emcee for the Tastee Talent Trial Road Show series this year). She now has an afternoon radio show weekdays on Bess FM.

Brooklyn-born singer John Earl has released a number of singles via youtube and his web page, namely, Put Your Arms Around Me, Thing Called Love, Hush Little Baby, I Can Love You Anyway and Baby Are You Ready.

DJ McHuel Prince has released singles since his appearance on last year's grand finals.

The top three will be showcased at this year's finals on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the Tastee open-air theatre in Cross Roads.
