A man who was fatally shot by the police in Bedward Gardens, August Town, Kingston 7, yesterday has been identified as the leader of the Banton gang.

Dead is Delroy Scott, otherwise called 'Banton', who was killed about 10 a.m.

Cops say the Banton gang operates in the St Andrew Central Police Division where Bedward Gardens is located.

It is reported that a .357 Magnum revolver and six rounds of ammunition was seized in the incident.

The matter has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations.
