Police arrest 23-y-o at Waterford dance

A man who was allegedly seen rushing from a dance during a police operation is now answering to charges of breaches of the Firearms Act after a Glock pistol was allegedly taken from him.

He is Prince Smith, 23-year-old, unemployed of Waterford, Portmore, St Catherine.

Reports are that at 3 a.m., police responded to a call about a dance in Waterford. When they got there, Smith was reportedly seen running from the party.

He was accosted and searched during which a Glock 27 loaded with five .40 rounds were found in his waist.

Prince was arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and is booked to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on November 27.
