A FIELD of 11 runners, headed by Owen Sharpe's impre-ssive unbeaten gelding, UNCLE TAF, has been confirmed for Saturday's Pick-3 Super Challenge Trophy, Race 2 in the Supreme Ventures Limited Two-Year-Old Series.

UNCLE TAF easily put away nine runners to land Race One in the series, the October 13 Cash Pot Only One For Me Trophy at 1200 metres.

However, only three runners from that race have returned for the 1400-metre Pick-3 Super Challenge - runner-up HOVER CRAFT and his Wayne DaCosta stablemate, PERFECT NEIGHBOUR, plus Harry Parsard's COUNTRY TRAIN.

DaCosta has entered ROYAL VIBES, a 1:19.0 winner of the October 15 Hi Pro Stables' Choice Feeds Trophy, to launch a three-pronged attack at UNCLE TAF who is yet to be extended in two wins.

Joining the fray is Philip Feanny's EL NUMERO UNO who ROYAL VIBES beat by three lengths in the Hi Pro. EL NUMERO UNO returned to stave off Richard Azan's entry, PERSIAN BELLE, at 1200 metres in a maiden event on Superstakes Day.

Azan yesterday said PERSIAN BELLE will be up against some real flyers but wasn't writing off his runner's chances.

"These two-year-olds, sometimes they can improve drastically in a short period of time. The other horses are working well but if you don't have a ticket, you don't have a chance," he said, no doubt referring to the big $3.6m purse.

PERSIAN BELLE, a $2.2m yearling-sale buy, galloped easy Sunday morning.

"I didn't send him to be pushed. The way he has been working and running, he has been showing signs of wanting a longer distance," he said, adding that Richard Mitchell will partner PERSIAN BELLE.

Dick Cardenas, who rode PERSIAN BELLE on last, will partner DaCosta's HOVER CRAFT.

Anthony Nunes has an improving pair to watch, SELECTABOOK, who won on debut, and the filly FIERCEANDFABULOUS, who was third in a blanket finish in the CTL Juvenile Sprint behind another entry, DIPLOMATICIMMUNITY, on Superstakes Day.

Sponsored by Supreme Ventures Limited to the tune of $11.7 million, the series concludes on December 26 with the big Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes run over a mile.
