Tivoli blank MoBay

Navion Boyd

Tivoli Gardens produced a scintillating second-half display to blank Montego Bay United 2-0 in their second-round Red Stripe Premier League football encounter at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex yesterday.

Substitute Navion Boyd (64th) and Fabian Campbell (71st) were the goalscorers for the Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey-coached Tivoli.

The victory moved Tivoli from ninth to fifth place in the standings on 18 points at press time last night. Montego Bay dropped to sixth with 17 points.

Bailey said they should have won by a wider margin.

"I think we played well because we played with a lot of guts and determination," he said. "I think that we should have been up by at least four goals at the end of the first half.

"However, in the second half I just asked them to come out with the same level of intensity and we were able score two goals, and I am happy for that," Bailey added.
