Man charged with storeroom larceny

A young man charged with simply larceny and storeroom breaking and larceny was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday to answer to the charges.

The accused is Jeraldo Bell of a Corporate Area address.

He pleaded guilty to both charges, simply larceny and storeroom breaking and larceny.

In relation to the simply larceny charge, the court was told that Bell stole from the complainant, 20 dinner plates, 20 drinking cups, one fax machine, one electronic cutting device, one Dewalt heavy duty drill, one Dewalt jigsaw, 50 pieces of planks and other items belonging to the complainant.

These items are valued at $256,000.

On the matter of store house breaking and larceny, the court heard that Bell entered the storeroom and removed one still bush cutter, one refrigerator, four Benz ANG rims, two 19 inch Benz rims and one Range Rover rim valued at $1.3 million.

The crown was also told that most of the items have been recovered.

Resident Magistrate Grace Henry Mckenzie requested that Bell's record be examined and sent to her in time for his sentencing.

He was remanded in custody until December 3.
