Man sentenced for selling ganja to children

A man who was convicted of selling ganja to children was sentenced to 40 hours of community service in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Charged with possession of and dealing in ganja is Nathaniel Seivwright, who was also fined $200 or 10 days for the latter charge.

Notwithstanding his conviction, Seivwright denied selling the contraband to minors.

He explained that he is currently unemployed so he was trying a thing to help out his mother financially as she is in need of more than $20,000 to assist his brother with something.

The Crown is alleging that on the day of the incident, police apprehended Seivwright and confiscated ganja from his person.
