Man killed on highway |

|
The Manchester police have confirmed that a pedestrian died on Monday night after being hit by a motor vehicle on the Winston Jones Highway. Dead is 46-year-old Errol Barker, who is believed to be of unsound mind. Barker is of a Sandy Bay, Clarendon, address. The police report that about 7:30 p.m., the man ran from the left side of the roadway in an attempt to cross, and into the path of a black 2007 BMW travelling towards Mandeville. He was pronounced dead at the Mandeville Regional Hospital. The driver of the motor vehicle who reportedly received serious injuries to the right eye was treated at the hospital and released. According to the police report, a breathalyser test done on the driver was negative. Investigations continue. |
