Dread steals 69-y-o aunt's dress?

A dreadlocked man who has been accused of stealing his 69-year-old aunt's dress, among other valuables, was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

He is 33-year-old Donovan Wynter who has been charged with larceny from a dwelling.

Wynter is to return to court on December 10, for trial.

Allegations are that on November 17, the complainant, Elita Kelly, found the accused in her home going through one of her barrels.

It is reported that when the complainant asked the accused what he was doing in her barrel, Wynter allegedly told her expletives.

The court also heard that several threats were made at the complainant.

Kelly told the court that the accused stole US$1,000 (J$92,000) worth of items from her home.

The complainant also told the court that the accused is a nuisance in her home as Wynter has been interfering with several barrels at the home.

Some of the barrels, the court heard, belong to relatives of Wynter.

"Your Honour, I am an entertainer and I do dub-plates and stage shows. That is how I make a change. I live in St Mary, but when I come in Kingston I stay there. This is my aunt and I love her sincerely. I didn't take anything from her," Wynter told the court.
