INDECOM probes fatal shooting The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a man in Ginger Hill, St Elizabeth, on Thursday. The dead man has been identified as 42-year-old Leroy Campbell, a farmer from the same community. Reports indicate that members of the St Elizabeth police were on a routine operation in the Ginger Hill community just before 9 p.m., when they spotted two men at a shop. It is alleged that the men drew guns and opened fire at the police. The fire was returned and one of the men was found with gunshot wounds. He was allegedly clutching a loaded .357 Magnum revolver. The injured man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other man escaped and is being sought by the police. |
