Up to late yesterday police said they were still unable to identify the body of a woman who was found in Passage Fort, Portmore, in St Catherine on Friday.

The woman is of dark complexion, medium build and about 168 centimetres (5 feet 6 inches) tall. She was clad in a blue blouse and blue jeans skirt.

Reports from the Waterford police are that about 2:15 p.m., passers-by saw the body on a canal bank in Palmetto West in the community and summoned the police.

The body was removed to the morgue.

Investigations are ongoing.
