Two men held in connection with JDF's recruit murder |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer The St Catherine North police say two men have been taken into custody in connection with the murder of a Jamaica Defence Force recruit. Dead is Leashawn Whyte, 18, of Spanish Town, St Catherine. The Star was informed that the two men said to be members of a Spanish Town criminal gang were taken into custody on Tuesday. Police reports are that Whyte's body was recovered on Tuesday from a make-shift grave after he went missing for a week. It was revealed that the police were alerted to an area of New Nursery near the Jamaica Urban Transit Company depot. It was removed for a post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death. The Star was informed that the deceased went into the community to visit a female friend. It's theorised that he was attacked, killed and his body buried. |
